Naan Pad
As far as the “Naan Pad” or “Gadhi” they can be made in about 2 minutes with just 4 cloths, one of which should be square. We will add pictures to this post to make it easier to understand. Take the square cloth and place it on a flat surface. Place the remainder cloths in the middle of the square one just folded into quarters and placed on top of each other. I didn’t have a square towel on hand, so I folded in a side of the red towel to make it a square. Bring two opposite corners of the square towel together and tie firmly. Repeat with opposite two corners. That’s it! Be sure to spray the surface of this Naan Pad with water so that it is slightly moist and won’t stick to the naan. Also to make sure you use a cloth that is 100% natural material like cotton to prevent any colour or chemical transfer to your food. Naan takes some practice, so don’t be discouraged when a few fall into the fire. Just be sure to make lots of dough, and keep practicing!

What is Tandoor and How Tandoor Oven works?
Our Tandoor Ovens are crafted by artisans that are committed to both quality and beauty. Each Tandoor Oven is individually hand crafted and strict quality control checks are made at each stage of manufacture. What is a Tandoor Oven? A Tandoor Oven is a traditional Indian earthenware cooking pot made from clay It is cylindrical in shape and uses Firewood or Charcoal for fuel It reaches temperatures in excess of 400 C How does the Tandoor Oven work? Cooking in a Tandoor Oven is similar to using a BBQ. However, there are some fundamental key differences that make Tandoor cooked food taste very different indeed: The combination of spices, high temperature (400C), metal skewers and Clay give the food a unique flavour. One that cannot be replicated by using a conventional grill, household oven or BBQ Food cooked in a Tandoor is cooked from both the outside, from the heat of the Clay pot, and, more importantly, from the inside via the radiant heat of the metal skewers The extreme temperatures of our Tandoor Oven, and the fact it is cooked from the inside at the same time, means food is ready much quicker than other methods of cooking. Meat is typically ready in less than half the time of other cooking methods Benefits of Tandoor Cooking: Unique tasting food Oil free cooking Meat is sealed very quickly ensuring all the flavour is locked in Radiant heat transfer ensures no Vitamins or Minerals are lost during the cooking process Chicken, Meat and Vegetable Kebabs ready in around 12-minutes Whole Chicken in around 30-minutes Whole leg of Lamb ready in under 1-hour Practically zero maintenance

Start Cooking With your Tandoor
If you have ever tried to make the same dishes you enjoy at your favourite Indian restaurant, only to find that even though the food is delicious, the taste is never quite the same as in the restaurant. That is because the unique way that tandoors cook makes all the difference. The ancient tandoor oven cooks in the same ways many of the high technology cooking appliances use as the most cutting edge and best ways to cook. Employing convection cooking, radiant heat cooking, and hot air cooking as well as the unique flavours found only when you expose food to the live fire of real wood, this old technology might just be the absolutely most perfect way to cook food. Because people have been cooking with tandoors since about 3000 B.C., it is often assumed that they require special skill or are hard to use, instead they are one of the easiest ways to cook food. Simply put the food on the skewers, hang in the tandoor, put the lid on, and let the food cook. Unlike conventional grills or ovens you don’t have to tend the food, turning it, basting it or otherwise ensuring for even cooking. You will also find that you can cook many dishes in just a fraction of the time that you might need in a modern oven. Tandoori cooking can be much healthier since you don’t need to cook your food in extra fats. In fact many of the extra fat will drip off during the cooking process in a tandoor oven falling down onto the coals and flame and actually helping to intensify the flavours while reducing the fat content of the finished dish. Vegetables cooked in the tandoor also have a wonderful flavour that will win over even those who are the most finicky. The best advice we can give to someone who is new to tandoori cooking is to start simple. Take your meat of choice and simply add some salt and pepper, the same for your vegetables. This allows you to find out for yourself all the flavour that you will add to your food just by using the tandoori. From there you can experiment and add complexity to what you are cooking trying out curries, masalas, and other spices.
